Well at this current time I have
yet to experience the birthing process. Unfortunately, I do not recall my own
birth although the one detail I been told is that I was born prematurely and
that my parent's had to leave me there for a about a two week span. I know that
child birth can have an effect on child's develop especially with birth
defects. The first months of a child’s
birth are critical for forming bonds.
The traditional American birth is
with some type medical professional onsite. In the South African Bushmen tribe
they believe that how you carry yourself during pregnancy has profound effect
on baby. They even have young girls watch women giving birth to see what to
except. They have been known to experience infant mortality and normal birthed
babies with this practice. They look at how the pregnancy goes versus American the
pregnancy stages and the birthing process. I can say for myself personally that
I will be in a hospital setting with medical professional surrounding me!
Hi Angelika,
ReplyDeleteI also have not been present for any births thus far, aside from my own. I remember we watched a film that showed a woman giving birth in 7th grade health class and that is the only time I have actually witnessed it. I am like you, I will definitely give birth in a hospital setting when it comes time for me to have a child. I will also take full advantage of the epidural that is provided! I found it very interesting to read about different countries and their customs when it comes to pregnancy and birth. Some are good and some are not so good. I think it is god that young girls in the South African Bushmen tribe get to experience this. It is something they will never forget and they will be able to keep that knowledge with them until it is their time to become a mother. They may even be able to use it to assist others who are having babies.
