Research that Benefits Children and Families

If I could choose an issue to research that affects children it would be ADD or ADHD. this research would be beneficial to a numerous amount of families if conducted with unlimited restrictions.  This issue affects several children in families and is a struggle to manage emotionally and physically.  This like many other early childhood issues have impact on the caregivers of the children,  because decision have to be made on treatments. Therefore the same amount of stress that the illness has on the child indirectly affects the caregivers.  I think this research could help the families of the children affected by this neroloneurologicalgical disorder. This could also help in the classroom as well, with the average age of diagnosis being 7. Teachers being equipped with the tools to assist families in a better fashion could lessen the stress taken on by the families.

Your Personal Research Journey

The topic that I chose was on the effects of poverty on child development. I chose this topic because of the recent information I have been exposed to through school courses and my professional work. As a child advocate information can be the tool that creates a source of change for children. Typically when presented with information for prevention you can reach at least one person to create change.  The simulation process was interesting but I feel could possibly become more complex.

Complexity is the word that comes to mind when I hear the word research. When I hear the word research I also think of a generous amount of details that may be hard to understand however all coincide with a common core. I typically only scratch the surface when it comes to research. This course and its assignments will help me to better read and understand research in a meaningful way.
