The topic that I chose was on the
effects of poverty on child development. I chose this topic because of the
recent information I have been exposed to through school courses and my
professional work. As a child advocate information can be the tool that creates
a source of change for children. Typically when presented with information for
prevention you can reach at least one person to create change. The simulation process was interesting but I feel
could possibly become more complex.
Complexity is the word that comes
to mind when I hear the word research. When I hear the word research I also think
of a generous amount of details that may be hard to understand however all coincide
with a common core. I typically only scratch the surface when it comes to research.
This course and its assignments will help me to better read and understand
research in a meaningful way.
Angelika,
ReplyDeleteGood post. Poverty is an issue that affects people in all ways. I had an assignment in my last class about how it could affect a child's ability to progress. I chose to complete mine on "social development in early childhood education". I am an advocate for children being able to communicate with others as well as being able to recite their ABC's. I look forward to communicating with you again.

Hi Angelika,
ReplyDeleteGreat choice for your research topic ! Poverty is such a huge issue that children and families are faced with. My current state has the highest percentage of children living in poverty in the US, so I would be very interested in learning about what you come up with through your research. Best of Luck !!

Angelika,
ReplyDeleteI look forward to tracking your journey, as I believe that poverty is an issue often faced by culturally diverse populations, which is the focus of my research for this course. You will most certainly not lack in resources for this topic. If I run across anything I feel will be of interest to you, I will definitely pass it on! Best wishes on your research journey!
Pamela
Hi Angelika,
ReplyDeleteThe effect of poverty can have a tremendous impact on a child's life and overall development. I am curious to know the subtopics you have chosen to research that are linked to your topic of poverty. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Angelika,
ReplyDeleteI think you chose a great topic and I also think that any additional information that you find re: the effects that poverty has on child development will be a great asset to the field.
When it comes to research and what I have learned in this course thus far I now know that what I thought I knew about research was just the tip of the iceberg. I am excited to learn more so that I may become a better researcher.
