Research that Benefits Children and Families

If I could choose an issue to research that affects children it would be ADD or ADHD. this research would be beneficial to a numerous amount of families if conducted with unlimited restrictions.  This issue affects several children in families and is a struggle to manage emotionally and physically.  This like many other early childhood issues have impact on the caregivers of the children,  because decision have to be made on treatments. Therefore the same amount of stress that the illness has on the child indirectly affects the caregivers.  I think this research could help the families of the children affected by this neroloneurologicalgical disorder. This could also help in the classroom as well, with the average age of diagnosis being 7. Teachers being equipped with the tools to assist families in a better fashion could lessen the stress taken on by the families.

  1. While i have to agree that it does help so many children. I think this is also a perfect example of how research can go so wrong. I feel that so many children are wrongly diagnosed because parents, teachers, and therapists are so ready and willing to jump on the band wagon. It seems no matter how much good research can do, there is always the flip side to the coin. Thank you for sharing this week.
